Christian Kapteyn is Professor of Digital Business and Head of the M.Sc. Study Program “Digital Transformation Management” at SRH University of Applied Sciences, Campus Hamburg, Germany. He is also the head of the SRH University task force on “Generative AI in Higher Education” and has a strong interest in the practical applications of Generative AI in academia and in business alike.

Christian has over 20 years of experience working in the context of innovation and digital transformation in various roles. His academic background is in semiconductor quantum physics and in his early career he has been working with Infineon Technologies on DRAM technology innovation projects as a development engineer. He has then turned entrepreneur and CEO founding a startup in the context of peer-to-peer carsharing in 2010. Later, in 2024, he has also been founding a 3D printing startup with venture capital funding by Siemens.

As consultant, advisor, and business coach, he has been working with over 70 startups. He is supporting his clients with designing and refining their product strategy and business model, raising venture capital, and accelerating growth. He is also supporting large corporate clients as a consultant with a focus on business innovation and strategy, platform business models, and corporate venture creation.
