Since June 2022, Mr. Sayasat Nurbek has served as the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a role to which he was reappointed in both April 2023 and February 2024.

Before his ministerial appointment, he was a deputy of the Majilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan (from February 2022). His career includes a wide range of roles in both the public and private sectors, including managing director and board member of the International Financial Center Astana (2016) and president of the Center for International Programs of the Ministry of Education and Science (2010-2013).

He is a graduate of Marshalltown College and has earned degrees from Gumilyov Eurasian National University, La Sapienza University of Rome, and Kokshe Academy. He also completed internships in the USA, Singapore, Belgium, Japan, and Holland.
